Ok, I thought I was making progress: I had built this beautiful HTPC with the hopes of digitizing every movie I owned. The thought was simple: digitize, store, enjoy 850 DVD's in my network. I was up to 416, with only box sets left out for show. People come over and look at the collection, look at me, look at my cats, and just wonder what's in our water.

Then, came cheap Blu-Ray, and Blu-Ray steelbooks, and Blu Special Editions. I don't know if you've every watched a cgi-filled action/adventure/sci-fi extravaganza on Blu, but it's pretty amazing. This makes all my DVD versions look like crap, hence the desire to upgrade. Add to this that I am a steelbook/Special Edition/Packaging whore - if it's got a slipcase or lenticular case, I gots to have it! So here I am, purchasing "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" for an extraordinary price of $8 - it's gonna rock on Blu, but with limited features, many of which are already on the DVD, why am I buying it?
I might as well turn into a non-sexual masochist, for there's only one reason why anyone would do this: I love the pain involved in building. Now if I can only become a real non-sexual masochist...
