Capital Village Update

As some of you may know, I recently moved into a unique community called Capital Village. Living here is everything I thought it could be, from the uniquely-designed homes (my garage is in an alleyway) to the presence of a large commercial complex (Lowe's, Chili's, Bev Mo!). In short, everything I need will soon be within walking distance. My duties at City Hall are less than a 15-minute walk away with my mp3 player, and bike paths are close by when I need to blow off steam.

Another unique aspect of Capital Village is the enthusiasm which most of my neighbors brought with them when they moved in. They take active roles within the community by volunteering for the two HOA's and are constantly asking me how to get more involved. I truly live in a connected community, and I'm hopeful that spirit will become contagious amongst neighbors who are quickly filling up the once-overabundant and overpriced homes.

When you look at all the positive changes that have occured in my life since August, none could have been more influential than my move to Capital Village. Doniell and I consider ourselves lucky to have been the beneficiary of the economic downturn that has befallen this area. We see ourselves here for the long term, and know that the current market conditions (which I will leave for another post) will actually serve to offer greater opportunities for like-minded people to join what has become THE hip place to live.

I'll provide further updates from Capital Village as events warrant.
