New Batman Preview and 6-minute IMAX Clip

Ok, so I'm sure you know about this movie: sequel to the hugely successful 'Batman Begins' with Christian Bale, been creating a lot of Internet buzz, and sure to be a hit with fans and newbies alike. The Internet buzz on this has been extradordinary, as the studio has sponsored several very unique and highly-interactive websites, including a viral puzzle game that required visitors to, among other things, visit landmarks around the country for clues to answer a puzzle on the movie's website. I think this sort of Web 2.0-ing is terrific, as it encourages Internet whores to get out of their Mom's basement and shun their Star Trek uniforms for more urban wear...

After becoming drawn to the movie's release by these and many other factors, and then learning that director Christopher Nolan was releasing a 6-minute clip with the IMAX release of "I Am Legend," I decided that a trip to San Francisco was necessary. Unfortunately, we have a pretty pathetic team running our Sacramento IMAX, who are banned from showing any first-run films before they are shown in our local gangsta-filled 35mm local theatre. So, off to SF I went!

Contrary to what you may think, I really do like living in the Sacramento region: lots to do, environmentally-conscious people that aren't too whacky, and the sense that we're growing into a great community has kept me here since 1997. But SF is DA BOMB!!! Where else can you see so many people compacted into one place, where the summer weather is like a winter day (see Mark Twain), or where you DROOL over so many hotties wearing short skirts and boots (see My Fascination with Female Leather Legging Aparati). The City's got so much going for it, if the bums and wierdos would just leave, perhaps we could enjoy our Batman previews and leather-clad honies in peace!
Suffice it to say that I LOVED THE BATMAN CLIP - it was tough, gritty, and utilized the full ability of the 6-story IMAX screen. The crowd actually cheered once the clip and various cut scenes throughout the film were displayed! I guess that's why "Legend" performed so well this weekend - read the release from IMAX here. It's early on, but I loved what I saw, and I suggest you check this movie out! See it in the gangsta theatre and you'll only see the preview.
Hopefully, Sac IMAX will get the movie soon, so I can drool again...wait, that was over the boot thing...
A little lunch burger from Pied Piper, a little dinner of eggplant parmesan from Amici's, and XM in the car and I was home before 9.
