The GOP Race is Up for Grabs, BUT...

...does anyone care? Even though Juliani has now lost his 13 point lead and is tied with Mitt Romney (what mean parents would name their kid 'Mitt anyways?'), the question in my mind is whether anyone cares about the GOP. As their popularity continues to erode, will anyone be there to support them in 2008?

This isn't to suggest that I'm a card-carrying Democrat: like the GOP, the two-party system is in more of a freefall that will affect both parties in 2008. There are more Independent and Decline to State voters in our country than ever before (California has the largest), and it appears that friends I have spoken plan on voting for someone other than our traditional parties.

Their reasoning? Simple: Repubs and Demos fail to relate to American values, and do not ingraciate themselves towards voters. In the end, we feel more pressure from our parents, who always voted the Party Line, to continue the trend.

Until our potential leaders do more to bring discussion and debate back into the light, and separate themselves from the "character" elections of 2000-2006, GOP and Demos will continue to see erosion in their support, which will make the Romney/Guliani & Clinton/Obama races moot.

More on this in future posts...
